Summer Intensives

5 Day Intensive workshops in the techniques of acting and auditioning for film, television and commercials. These are no ordinary acting camps. Biz Studio coaches Michael Bean, Julie Patzwald and Laura Bertram teach scene study, acting technique, audition technique, commercials, improv, nerve management, script analysis and the business of acting. Each Intensive includes one Biz Studio guest instructor (Laura Bertram, Julie Patzwald, Shelene Yung), one skill-specific workshop (Improv, Stunts, Clown), and one workshop with a working casting director (Tiffany Mak, Stuart Aikins, Candice Elzinga, Michelle Allen).

Level 1/2: How To Tell A Story On Camera; Personalizing Your Choices. Students work to master short scenes (Actor, 1-2 Lines, Principal, 3-6 Lines, Large Principal 6-10 Lines). In many ways short scenes are more difficult because they require consistent application of camera and acting skills to tell a meaningful story in a short period of time.

Level 2/3: How To Tell Better Stories; Bold, Personal, Appropriate Choices. Students from the Level 1/2 Intensive can continue into the Level 2/3 Intensive. New students should email info@bizstudio.ca to arrange a video audition. Students begin working on full audition scripts for Large Principal, Co-Star, Guest Star and Lead Roles (3-10 pages).

Cancellation Policy: Students who cancel a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of the class will be refunded 100% of their course fee. Students cancelling after the deadline will be refunded 50% of their course fee.
