M 12-14 | Avery: A mischievous boy who lets his curiosity and imagination run wild. He lives with his mother, Trinity, and together they live out of their station wagon. Always on the move, Avery hasn’t had the chance to form many meaningful friendships and bonds with people. Not having a father in his life leaves him with an unconscious fear of abandonment, and he can’t help but look up to Sam as some sort of father figure as he searches for what it really means to be a man.

Other Side of the Tracks is a drama/comedy that takes place at a secluded roadside gallery. Sam, a mid-40s so-called artist doing his best to keep the 100-year-old home and his deceased mother’s legacy alive, sells paintings just as his mother did before him. There is just one problem, Sam can’t paint. Sam resorts to buying paintings from estate sales, painting over the original artist’s name and putting his own in its place. One afternoon, doing repairs on the decaying gallery, he runs into 12-year-old Avery, who has been left alone by his mother, Trinity. Bored and lonely, Avery pokes around the gallery becoming a quick nuisance to Sam. However, through a series of small interactions, Sam puts Avery to work helping him forge art by his side forming an unlikely father-son bond between the two strangers.
