CHARACTERS:

F 17-18 | LILAH: Lilah is an artist and dancer who loves spending time outdoors. She is hearing but is non-verbal and communicates in Sign Language. Lilah struggles to connect to her mother, who is constantly trying to get Lilah to conform and change to seem more like her neurotypical/allistic peers. * The actor who plays Lilah will need to communicate primarily in Sign Language. We are prioritizing casting an actor who is a native communicator in ASL* MUST BE AN ACTOR WHO IS A NATIVE USER OF SIGN LANGUAGE * OPEN ETHNICITY *

STORYLINE:

A non-verbal autistic girl lives at odds with her mother, whose obsession with changing her child prevents her from seeing the magic and beauty the child possesses.

For the roles of Lilah and Lilah’s friend, we want to cast native users of Sign-Language (ASL). If you or your child are native users of Sign Language but do not have acting experience and have always wanted to try acting, please feel encouraged to apply and audition! Everyone has to start somewhere.
