This show is going to be in town shooting for another six months, twenty-six episodes in total. So this is not only a great opportunity to be seen by a professional casting director (open calls with pro casting directors *never* happen so take advantage of this) but if you’ve got a particularly fun quirky thing going on for yourself you’ve got a decent shot at appearing on the show. Think about the style for Nickelodeon shows, make big choices with your audition pieces, don’t be afraid to really have fun with it. The acting style is basically as “big” as possible without being a cartoon. Good luck! -Michael Bean, Owner+Head Coach, Biz Studio

VANCOUVER BC – Castaway Productions will be holding an open call looking for outgoing teens for the Nickelodeon television series “The Troop”, shooting in the Greater Vancouver area.

Castaway Productions is looking for candidates who can convincingly and realistically portray teens between 14 and 19 years old. They are looking for a diverse cast and are open to all races and ethnicities which includes (but not limited to) African American, Hispanic, First Nations and Asian.

“Vancouver has a huge pool of untapped talent.” says Casting Director Maureen Webb, “This is the perfect opportunity for young actors to showcase their talent. Who knows where it might lead?”

“The Troop”, an action adventure with sci-fi elements and CG animation, follows Jake, a typical teenager struggling through adolescence who dreams of creating his own comic book. He teams with the smart, athletic and popular Hayley and annoying paranormal expert Felix to take on monster missions.

“The Troop”, filming in Vancouver for a fall premiere, has received a 26-episode order. Run by Emmy-winning comedy writer Jay Kogen (“Frasier”); Created by Greg Coolidge (“Employee of the Month”), Chris Morgan (“Fast & Furious”) and Max Burnett (“Possums”); Exec produced by Tommy Lynch (“Romeo!” and “South of Nowhere.”)

GRANPA: CAST (Jan de Cleir) Starred in 2 Academy Award winning films: Antonia’s Line and Karakter.

The script is very COEN BROTHERS meets POLISH BROTHERS meets SAM SHEPHARD – with many twists and turns – so all actors being scheduled for appointments need to have read the full script before coming in for their audition. Any actors self-taping need to also read the full script.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS PROJECT CONTAINS EXPLICIT LANGUAGE AND EDGY SITUATIONS.

THIS IS TRULY A STAR MAKING ROLE. OPEN TO ACTRESSES WITH MINIMAL EXPERIENCE. ALL WILL BE CONSIDERED.

[ MARY ]
Female age 15-18. Caucasian. She’s a glass half-empty kind of girl – brooding and jaded and cynical but also romantic. Dragged along on a road trip with her mother and her mother’s new boy toy boyfriend into the backwoods of Missouri, Mary is hoping to meet up with Felix, the boyfriend she’s in love with whom she met online, but has never met in person. Today is the worst day of her life, but so was yesterday. She has a caustic attitude and would do anything to be 18 and free of her current situation…LEAD (4) NOT TOO TALL, is baby-faced, innocent and vulnerable – NOT Hollywood sophisticated. WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR AGES 15 – 18. ACTORS SHOULD BE PUT ON TAPE ASAP. .
