Carousel Theatre is probably Vancouver’s best established and longest running children’s theatre company. The role they’re looking to fill is one of the leads, and would be a great opportunity to get some serious stage time. Note that it says the audition will consist of “one song and a scene from Seussical” so if you want to ace the audition get yourself a copy of the script and read it ahead of time, just in case they have you do a cold read in the room. Male, age 10-14, maximum height 5 feet, strong singer/dancer/actor. Carousel Theatre is seeking a young male actor for the remount of their hit production of Seussical the Musical, which re-opens this winter. Lucas Testini, last year’s JoJo has grown up (very tall!) to become a Wickersham Monkey in this year’s production, and Carousel is looking to fill the role of JoJo with a spunky, fun, local actor. JoJo is an imaginative Who, the son of The Mayor and Mrs. Mayor, he often gets into trouble for thinking. Candidates must be willing and able to miss school classes in November/December, as the majority of rehearsals and performances will occur during school hours.
