STORYLINE
Adeline recently moved to the lower mainland from a very rural part of the country. She has been home schooled up to now and has identified herself through her writing. This new social environment is challenging Adeline’s ability to write and her sense of self. This story follows the path she pursues to fit in – at the cost of depression.

[ ADELINE ]
(age 18) She’s depressed and feels withdrawn from her fellow classmates. She loves to write, yet finds herself drawn into her creative world and difficult to fit into the environment around her.

[ ALEX ]
(age 18) He is very active and up-beat, in contrast to Adeline’s introverted personality

[ KATE ]
(age 18) She’s very out-going and energetic. She a charming charisma and is the captain of the school’s rowing team.

STORYLINE
Space Dad is a space-age dad of the future, in the 1950s. In 1994 he’s a slightly out of his element. His children are a sad product of a culturally bankrupt generation. There’s also a monster. And some aliens.

[ ELIZABETH ]
Elizabeth is the daughter of Space Dad. She listens to grunge music and wears flannel, as is the style in 1994. She hates her parents.

[ MICHAEL ]
Michael is Elizabeth’s younger brother. He listens to hip-hop via an enormous pair of headphones, and is generally oblivious to everything that is going on around him. He never speaks. He nods his head to music constantly.

[ BULLIES ]
The bullies terrorize Michael and Elizabeth for dressing like it’s the 90s, because they think it’s hip to pretend it’s still the 50s. Think the Riverdale Gang.
