METROPOLIS FILMS
11 CIRCLE LANE 22D

NOTE: This is a nationwide (including Canada and Mexico) search for the character of 14 year old Ricky Swift, a handsome boy who can sing passionately and can move with a sense of rhythm. a major publicity campaign will follow and promote the chosen performer to celebrity status. It is the starring role in this feature film.
We are looking for a singer who can act a little, not an actor who can sing a little. Not rap or hip hop, but ballads. Sense of style is a plus. Performer should be able to move with the music and have a degree of stagecraft. Experience is not required. The character is a All-American type boy, not much over five feet tall (1 or 2 inches MAXIMUM) with an average build and straight light brown hair (variations on that are acceptable as hair will be colored to blond.) non-union okay – this role will qualify performer for union status.
[ RICKY SWIFT ]
- is 14, but he is small in stature and could be mistaken for 11 or 12 (people that age may apply) He is a quiet but smart Southern boy living in unfortunate circumstances (i.e poverty, trailer park, negligent mother and abusive stepfather.) He has a great hidden talent: singing. He can also dance along to the music although he is not a dancer per se. He has a great sense of rhythm and style but no training or experience.
Not a fast talker, he gives thoughtful, deliberate answers to questions, and has a depth of character indicated by his incisive observations and deep emotional responses to the situations enfolding him. His goal in life to be be loved and encouraged by decent parents (such as he has never known,) and to eat regularly. But as this story begins, he does not ever expect those goals to be reached.

12-14 years, all ethnicities, boys and girls. The kids will be in a National Potato Sack race, and are the seasoned champs. Each member will have their own misfit character. Looking for loads of confidence and character. Geeks, bookworms, jocks & all shapes and sizes…
CONCEPT: This clip will be a play on classic 80’s movies sports montages — where the hero trains hard and fierce, preparing himself for the event of his life. In this case we’ll have the boys from Marianas Trench preparing for their annual potato sack race against a team of four misfit but unmistakably badass children…

[ TAMMY PRICE (DAUGHTER) ]
17 years old (will accept submissions from 15-25 years old), white. Her father’s constant anger has shaped a quiet demeanour, though she remains well-adjusted aside from her shyness. Quite pretty/cute, not unpopular at school. Has ambitions to become a news anchor or a businesswoman. Is having an incestuous relationship with her brother…
STORY LINE: The movie is shot entirely in real-time, from the first-person perspective of Morgan Price, an upper-middle class eighteen year-old whose family epitomizes the smoke-and-mirrors act inherent to their station in life…

(reposted from the Actors Access website; the only way to submit for this one is electronically on that website – membership is free, each submission costs $2… not a bad deal for a shot at spending three months hanging out with one of the most successful young actors working today. FYI a photo double is someone who looks exactly like the character when seen from the side, behind, etc. It means that the lucky actor who gets this will get three months of work, but no lines.)
